Disney's Lullaby Album Editorial Review:
Instrumental albums from Walt Disney's mega-empire are a rarity. But judging from the excellence of Disney's Lullaby Album--from the superb arrangements to the surprise song choices--you'll probably be hearing more of them. Producer and arranger Fred Mollin exhibits not only good taste and restraint in his approach, but his song choices sweetly complement one another. Treading the fine line between Muzak and genuinely soothing music, Mollin lands softly and sentimentally on such Disney movie song classics as "Baby Mine," "When You Wish upon a Star," and "Stay Awake/Feed the Birds," as well as on other chestnuts such as "Brahms Lullaby" and Kenny Loggins's "House at Pooh Corner." The real delights, though, are the Beatles' "I Will" (rendered beautifully on piano and strings), Louis Armstrong's timeless "What A Wonderful World," the classic "Beautiful Dreamer," the old doo-wop favorite "Good Night My Love (Pleasant Dreams)," and an inspired reprise of "Brahms Lullaby" joined with Gershwin's "Someone to Watch over Me." Complete with sleeping tips from psychology professor Jodi Mindell, Disney's Lullaby Album almost guarantees that you'll fall asleep before the baby does--for all the right reasons. --Martin Keller
Customer Reviews:
Disney Lullaby Album
My babies are now 7 and 4 and they loved this cd. I have to say I really miss listening to it. My favorite is the instrumental "I Will" by John Lennon. It is so beautiful. I rocked both my babies to sleep with this cd and would just hold them while they slept until the cd was over so I could hear all of the songs. I give this cd as a gift to my new parent friends.
Great for both my kids' bedtime!
This is great CD filled with calming, tranquil music that has all the great Disney tunes. My older son is now 5 years old, and I've passed it on my 1 year old baby--it's soothing, and he calls it his "baby music"...we're definitely going to purchase Vol.2!!
Soothing lullabies
The Disney Lullaby album is one of the most soothing that I have heard. Every song is soft and beautiful and will take anyone, big or small, right to a peaceful sleep.
Excellent in Every Way
The lullabies are so pretty and soothing. My daughter falls fast asleep and it is a big part of her bedtime routine. I enjoy the songs as well. We used a Baby Einstein when she was first born and that one bored me terribly. I have even bought this for a couple of friends for their baby showers and they enjoy it as well.
Our favorite lullaby CD
This is my 5-month old's favorite lullaby CD. The music is soft and soothing and doesn't have annoying singers' voices (unlike the other lullaby CD I bought). The transitions between the songs are smooth and there are no loud or jarring notes in the songs that will wake the baby. Gotta love it!
