Sesame Street - Learning About Numbers Editorial Review:
Studio: Genius Products Inc Release Date: 06/08/2004 Run time: 30 minutes Rating: Nr

Customer Reviews:
Low rating for the navigation! :(
Sesame Street has great content, but I am frustrated with the navigation issues (they are the same for many of the Sesame Street DVDs -- read reviews). You are forced to sit through commericals for Sesame Street, you can't fast forward or jump to the main menu. My toddler loses interest while I have to wait until the nav shows up to press the play button. Best to start the DVD and then wander back when you want to see it. A shame they messed it up -- the best kids DVDs go right to the menu.

The Best of all Sesame Street
This DVD is the best of all Sesame Street DVDs. I love it from start to finish. My toddler really took off with her number abilities after watching this. Count has always been my favorite character.

Wonderful return to classics
This is the rare release that isn't full of Elmo, or other screeching, hyper, idiocy, like so much of the current stuff. Instead it's gentle, but still plenty of fun. It also has the wit absent in most of the current Sesame Street productions, wit that made the old Sesame Street so very special. My nearly two year old loves it, and I don't mind watching it, either.

Liers!!........Amazon says both languages (spanish & english)
It is only in english.
Amazon, try not to do this again.
You better fix that info on the item page.

our toddler much preferred "1 2 3 count with me"
Our two-and-a-half year old didn't like "learning about numbers" at all, except for one little sequence that show 2 girls playing with a dollhouse. he much preferred "1 2 3 count with me." the two dvds are actually quite different: the other one features elmo and ernie and feels very much geared toward young children while "learning about numbers" actually seems like they were trying to entertain children and adults at the same time by adopting a mock talk show format where big bird is supposed to be some kind of jay leno standup. plus there is a lot of "The Count" in that LAN, and our toddler didn't like him at all--a kind of dracula knockoff that struck him as kind of distasteful and even scary. "1 2 3 Count With Me" a much better choice, for us at least, and possibly for all 2 year olds. Could be "learning about numbers" is better tolerated by older children. Only weakness to "1 2 3 count with me" is that they give short shrift or even skip over certain numbers between 1-20. Some kind of brainless editing decision by somebody who didn't get enought sleep, no doubt. but our child much preferred it to "learning about numbers" Also: "learning about numbers" subjects you to a hyperactive commercial for some Sesame Street foundation at the beginning and doesn't let you bypass it!
